Outdoor Movie Night!

The weather is heating up, and while the days are hot, the evenings are perfect for al fresco dining and an outdoor movie night! We love being outside after being indoors for most of last year, and what a better way to kick off the summer than with hot dogs, drinks and theater-style snacks. To make our movie-night more special we built a cardboard box car for our daughter to paint and decorate during the day.

We didn't have a template and made a cardboard box truck since Lucy loves our blue truck. She loved painting the cardboard and decorating it with all the colors possible. We were able to stick our play mat inside the truck bed so she can sit and enjoy the outdoor movie in true comfort.

Prior to our movie showing we prepped our dinner: regular hot dog for Lucy and chili cheese dogs with sweet jalapeños for mom and dad, all served with french fries. For the movie, we purchased Red Vines, M&Ms, and Abba Zabba, and popped popcorn to enjoy.

• clear packaging tape

• exacto knife

• paint

• apron (to protect clothes from all the paint)

• large tarp
