Overnight Oats with Chia Recipe

Overnight oats are the perfect fuss-free breakfast for running out the door or meal prepping. While it's true you can't always please everyone—this recipe gets pretty close. 

Not only is it easy to make but also incredibly versatile. You can customize your oats based on your preferences and use what you have in the house. The only ingredient that's non-negotiable is the oats. As the name suggests, it's kind of important. You can be playful with everything else—your preference of milk (or milk alternative), nuts, berries, nut butter, and more. Crunchy or smooth—the world is yours to explore! 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup chia seeds 

  • 5 cups milk (your choice of milk or alternative milk)

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional ingredients for rolled oats mixture: cacao, cinnamon, nutmeg, your choice of sweetener

  • Optional ingredients for topping: seasonal fruit, almond slivers, coconut flakes

Instructions

Step 1: In a large bowl, stir the rolled oats, chia seeds, milk, and salt. Add any optional ingredients such as sweetener, cacao, cinnamon, or nutmeg.

Step 2: Split rolled oats mixture into four mason jars, then refrigerate. Refrigerate overnight for best results. 

Step 3: Sprinkle with sliced/whole fruit, or other toppings, then serve.
