Between taking care of the kids, being a wife, and work, it's really easy to forget about your own wellness.

I'm not going to pretend that I have it all together. Balance and wellness is actually something I have to consciously choose to do everyday.

Here are some of the things that have helped me maintain my own wellness, as well as the kids', and how I am kicking off the new year.

1. Carve out sacred time for yourself. My favorite way to zone out is to exercise or mediate. Put the devices down and make time to connect with yourself! If time is difficult to find, try an hour before everyone wakes or after everyone's asleep.

2. Stock the house with fresh fruits and veggies. This helps the whole household eat well.

3. Go on walks with the kids. It's a great way for everyone to get off the devices and soak in some vitamin d, along with getting some physical activity. It's also a great way to chat. Make it a daily routine, whether in the morning or after dinner.
